Cut A Shine ventures to South London - AGAIN!!!!
Friends! It was so much fun last time, we just have to do it again! What a lovely bunch of dancers and friends. See you for a mid week dance on actual St Patrick’s Day!.. we’re be focussing on Irish Ceili Dances and having a wee stout. The pub is perfect for a dance - they take out some furniture and we rip it up on the massive dance floor. Can’t wait!

About The Dancing
Although called many things; Ceilidh, Country Dance, Barn Dance, Ceili Dance, Square Dance, Set Dancing - one thing is certain, it's all "traditional" and how people would entertain themselves before TV and raves. We have a live band on stage to provide the music, and a "Dance Caller", who is expert at teaching you all the simple and fun moves. First we learn the dance by walking through it with the caller, then the band strike up, and we dance to the music. You don't need any experience, just willingness to have a go and have fun.
Inclusivity and Diversity
Our dances are All Inclusive, regardless of age, gender, ability, ethnicity or sexual orientation. Although based largely on traditional European and American dance forms, we welcome all cultures and peoples to enjoy these dances and culture. We have tailored our dances to be non-heteronormative and involve everyone. We welcome members of the LGBTQ+ community.
It’s a Dance!
A gentle reminder, please wear appropriate footwear, as this is a vigorous dance session! No heels! It’s also an “old fashioned” dance, where you have a dancing partner (sometimes 2!) and have to hold hands sometimes. There is physical contact.
The symbolism we have chosen for this flyer is the Celtic Tree of Life.
