Cut A Shine present an Autumnal Hoedown Festival in the heart of Hackney.

After the rip-roaring success of our Spring Dance, we are heading back down to the wonderful St John at Hackney church for a second autumnal installment: and this time it’s even bigger. This is the first, southern leg, of the Fire in the Mountain Festival 2012 warm up parties. Come and join us from late afternoon for top hoedown bands, hearty hog roasts, real ale and ciders, interactive live art, and a host of other performances and side shows.

Cut A Shine are also celebrating the launch of their new CD box set – the beginners guide to Hoedown

------------------------------------------

Hoedown Album Launch: Cut A Shine teamed up with Record Label Nascente to compile a three box set titled The Beginners guide to Hoedown, an essential collection of jumping Appalachian, bluegrass, nugrass, ragtime, skiffle, barn-dance & country music. It features legends such as Bill Monroe, Bela Fleck & Flatt and Scruggs, archival recordings of classic barn dances with live calls and contemporary artists resident in both the UK and USA, this 3CD set is the sound of the 21st  century hoedown. Join us here for the launch party.

Fire in the Mountain. Following our inaugural “off piste” festival set on an ancient farm in the idyllic hills surrounding Aberystwyth in Mid Wales, we invite revelers to sample some of the top bands from this years festival, and experience bands booked for next years event (held on 1st – 5th June 2012). This is the first official warm up event for Fire in the Mountain 2012, which, due to changes in the UK’s bank holidays and the “Diamond Jubilee”, is set to become a 5 day festival and camping experience in the wilderness of Wales.

Fire in the Mountain Festival is a coming together of the arts collectives and bands from London and Liverpool. The second warm up party is set to take place in Liverpool at the underground and alternative arts venue The  Kazimier on 5th November 2011.

Bands. In addition to the Headlining Barn Dance from Cut A Shine we present Kidnap Alice – Smokin' UK Bluegrass infused with Soul Music, Liverpool Legends Pete Bentham and the Dinner Ladies, dark jumping prog-rock from Liverpool's Long Finger Bandits, 21st Century Organ and dance music from Liverpool art collective The Kazimier Krunk Band, and European Nu-Grass flavours from the mysterious Dusty Stray.
